June Boxycharm Box

June Boxycharm Box

JUNE.  SERIOUSLY.  WHERE DID YOU GO!?!
I honestly cannot believe that this month is almost over.  It makes me sad really that time is going by so quickly.  Sometimes I wish I could just freeze time and everything remain just as it is…but then it would be my luck that it would be an absolutely crappy day and that’s when time would stop.  Because my name is Melissa…and that is my luck.  Call it Murphy’s law.  Or…maybe Melissa’s law?  Yeah…

So….on a bright note, I have another Boxycharm “unboxing” of sorts for you to see.  I promise – I will learn to use my fancy camera to make videos one day – but I haven’t gotten that brave yet.

I have tried many beauty subscriptions in the past, but this is the one that I feel is one of the best values and features the most useful products.

If you aren’t familiar with Boxycharm (which I wasn’t until recently), Boxycharm is a beauty subscription service where they send you a monthly box to your home and you receive 4-5 full-size beauty products a month.  If you go on a month-to-month subscription, you will be paying $21 dollars a month, but most every box that I have received has been of $100-$130 dollar value.
The price varies depending on whether you go month-to-month, every 3 months, every 6 months, or every year.  You can find more information about the subscription options here.

From what I’ve seen, everyone seems to receive the same items in their box (which is different from Birchbox and Ipsy), but they may have differing color variations of a product, like for instance, not all of us received the same blush color this month.

P.S. – This boxes value is $117.95 this month!

So for this months box…

I was super excited to see this Oil Control Pressed Powder from OFRA Cosmetics!

OFRA Pressed Powder Front Shot

Ofra Back Shot
As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I’m a greasy grease-ball in Summer, so I can’t wait to try this out!
Also, this product retails for $39.95, so this one product has essentially paid for the whole box – hence another reason why I’m obsessed with Boxycharm!

The next product that I saw in the box was a package which contained three Coconut Gel Masks from Farmacy.
I have never heard of this brand at all, but it appears that they did a collab with Boxycharm this month.

June Boxycharm Mask Box Shot

Face Mask Open Shot

I have a few sheet masks that I’ve received now, so I’ll add these to my collection.  I’ll be honest – I’m always afraid to try new skincare products because I’m happy using my
Rodan + Fields products, but I think a mask would be great for a relaxing night in the bath tub.
This product alone retails for $24.00, so yet another product that is actually worth more than what we actually pay for the box – WINNING!

OH YEAH…OUR BATH TUB – which now has a HOLE in it because it just decided to break when Nick was standing on it cleaning something.
YEAH…Not even three years old.  THANKS NIBLOCK.

OK – RANT OVER.

Another product that we received this month is this periwinkle blue color from LVX in the color Serene.

LVX Nail Lacquer Box Shot

Nail Polish Unboxed
Yes…that’s my dog Maggie in the background.  Don’t judge me.  I was trying to catch the last few minutes of natural light and hey – you do what you gotta do.
I turned a basket over and shot this on the bed they always lay on.  Again.  Don’t judge me.

Back to the nail polish… I haven’t tried it yet, but this product retails for $18 dollars.
I cannot see spending that much money on a single nail polish color…so it better last to be at that price.
I would typically only use this type of color on my toes, but for the sake of this blog and you all – I will wear this polish on my fingernails soon and update you on my Instagram how long it lasts.

The next item is from a company called Cougar Beauty.  I have never heard of this company, and it appears to be a UK based makeup brand.
We received a full size Mineral Face & Body Shimmer.

Cougar Side Shot Unboxed

Eyeliner Swatch Girlactik

So as you can see from the swatch, I’m really not sure that this product is going to work for me.  It’s super yellow on me, but maybe when blended in with makeup or on the chest for a little touch of shimmer, it will be ok.  I also don’t really like the packaging…it has a sifter on top, but they are so messy and spill out way too much product.  I would much prefer pressed shimmer highlights.
This product retails for $16 US dollars, so it’s not super expensive, but I probably wouldn’t purchase it for myself.

The final product we received in this months box is this Precise Marker Liner in black from Girlactik Cosmetics!

Girlactik Beauty Eyeliner Unboxed Shot

I am excited to try eyeliner out because I am working to perfect my winged liner…and believe me, it’s a freaking work in progress.  I. AM. NOT. GOOD.
In the picture above, you can see the swatch of this eyeliner and it’s super dark and seems to be pretty smudge proof.
I am hoping to put it to work next weekend when we go out for a few friends birthdays!  Woohoo!

This eyeliner retails for $20 dollars, and yet is another reason why Boxycharm really knocks it out of the park!
I have also heard great things about Girlactik bronzers, so I hope to try out a few more products from this brand soon!

Well…that’s all I have for you today!  I hope that you find these posts helpful!  If not, please let me know!

What are your favorite beauty subscriptions?  Are there any you would like to see me try?
Any that you love that you think I should get?
