My Favorite Everyday Makeup Geek Eyeshadows & Blushes

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, then you know that I am obsessed
with Makeup Geek products!  Honestly, I think that these products are the best that you can
get for the money.

This a great Forbes article that explains how Marlena (the owner and CEO of Makeup Geek) created the brand, so take a look!
Marlena got started on YouTube – so she has a great success story!

If you haven’t tried Makeup Geek eye shadows, you simply must.  I cannot express that enough.
THEY. ARE. AMAZING.

Most of MUG products are cruelty-free, paraben free and made in the USA.

These eye shadows are $6 dollars (matte, shimmers and duo chrome eye shadows) each pan, and $10 dollars (foiled eye shadows) and are de-potted so that you can easily insert them
into a Z-Palette, or a Vault Palette (available on the website) so that you can customize
your own eye shadow palette.  I have not tried the Vault Palette from Makeup Geek, but that’s going to be in my next purchase.
The complaint that I have with Z-Palettes are that they don’t have a mirror, and are not great for travel as they can get smashed and broken.
From what I’ve read about the Vault Palette, Marlena has worked to make it easier for travel, sturdier, and includes a mirror!

OK – on to my favorite eye shadows and blushes for every day wear!

(The picture above is my own personal Z-Palette that I’ve created with my favorite every day shadows and blushes)

The formula of these eye shadows is amazing.  The color payoff is amazing, and they’re super creamy and extremely pigmented.  The best application of the foiled eye shadows is a Mac 242 brush with Fix Plus, or your fingertip.  I honestly find that I like the look of my makeup when I use my fingertip to apply the foiled shadows.

So…enough talk – let’s see some swatches!  Some of the color looks different on the website as it does swatched, and I honestly won’t buy something unless I see an actual swatch of the product.

Here’s a quick tip: if you can’t find a swatch of something on the website you’re looking at, search Pinterest.  Odds are there’s someone who has swatched it or has done a tutorial wearing the product!

Makep Geek Matte Eyeshadows

All of these shadows are my favorite matte shadows.  Beaches & Cream is very skin-toned (as you can see above), so I think it works perfect as a base.  Peach Smoothie and Creme Brulee are perfect transition shades for my skin tone and I love the dimension that it gives my eyes!  When I first bought Cocoa Bear, I was super intimidated by the color and thought I’d regret purchasing it…but I forced myself to use it and now it’s a must-have for me!

My favorite go-to eye shadow combination is Beaches & Cream all over the entire lid, then using Peach Smoothie and Creme Brulee in the crease.  Then I lightly apply Cocoa Bear on my “outer v” of my eye, then use Starry Eyed on the lid.  Once I get brave enough to go on camera, I will try to film a tutorial of this look!

Favorite Makeup Geek Shimmers

Shimma Shimma is the one that you can see that I’ve used the most.  I use this in so many different ways.  I’ve used this as an all-over eye shadow base, as an all over shimmer color, a highlight, a brow highlight and an inner corner highlight.  If there’s one pan that I will continually order time and time again, it’s Shimma Shimma!

Cinderella is a gorgeous shimmer color that I use all over my lid.  The two duo chrome eye shadows, I’m Peachless and Mai Tai are absolutely GORGEOUS.  If you aren’t familiar with what a duo chrome eye shadow is, it reflects light differently when it’s turned…so you may have green reflects in some parts, but purples and silvers in the other.  Mai Tai is especially gorgeous as it has orange, coral, pink and purple color reflects.

Makeup Geek Foiled Shadoww

I honestly cannot say enough about foiled shadows from Makeup Geek.  If I had to pick two foiled shadows that are absolutely STUNNING, it would be Whimsical and Flame Thrower.  Whimsical looks very pink/purple in the pan, but when it’s swatched, it’s a gorgeous pearl color.  Flame Thrower is such a creamy, pigmented copper color.  I really don’t know how to explain it because it’s just that gorgeous.  It is a super warm color, so if you aren’t able to pull of warm colors or you have a cool skin tone base, Flame Thrower won’t work well for you.

As I said before, I use Starry Eyed nearly every day.  If I’m going out for the night with friends, or out with my husband, I will add in some Grand Stand and Mesmerized.  If I’m looking for a super bold look, I will use Showtime in the “outer v” and then use Flame Thrower on the lid.  I also sometimes mix Starry Eyed and Magic Act to give a little different color tone for my every day eye makeup look on occasion.

Makeup Geek Blushes

Makeup Geek has been re-formulating the blushes, so when I was searching to add the links, most of these are currently unavailable!  However, I did see that Spell Bound is available for $5 right now, which is 50% off as the blush pans are typically $10.  I’m not sure if the price will increase with the new formulation, but I’m thinking it will increase a little.

I received a new Makeup Geek blush in the new packaging in my BoxyCharm box this month and it is BEAUTIFUL and super functional!
Honestly – Marlena works super hard to make sure that people love her products, and she’s constantly working to make the products better.

I hope that this post helps you find some products that may be perfect for you, or if you haven’t ever heard of the Makeup Geek brand, then hopefully this will help motivate you to try some of these eye shadows and blushes!

DISCLAIMER:  I am not affiliated or sponsored by Makeup Geek in any way.  I just love this brand and love how it was created and how successful it is.  These are just products that I love and wanted to share with my readers.
