September Boxycharm Box

september-boxycharm-featured-photo

OK….yes, I do realize that it is no longer September and damn near the middle of October already (WHAT?!)….but….this Boxycharm box was too good not to show ya’ll and I’m just now getting this post up!

I have to say, it seems like each box gets better and better, so I am really loving my subscription! The great thing about Boxycharm is that all of the items are full-size items, and you only pay $21 dollars a month!  Over the past few months, I have gotten some great brands and tried a lot of new great products, and a few duds along the way…but I’m ok with that!

This month rocked though, and I pretty much love everything in the box!

The value of this box is $110.95!

So let’s get into this box….

The first thing that I have to talk about is obviously the eye shadow palette!

Studio Makeup – On the Go Eye Shadow Palette

To date, this is one of the best palettes that I’ve received in any beauty subscription box and I am loving that these are all neutral colors so I can create many looks with this palette.  It’s in convenient packaging and great size for travel which I also love!  I haven’t heard of this brand before, but I will definitely be looking into it because this palette is honestly great.  The eye shadows seem to be great quality,  have nice pigmentation and a creamy consistency.  There is a little bit of fall-out with these shadows, but that doesn’t really bother me all that much.

One downfall – there are no names that I could find for these shadows…so when I swatched them for you all, I had to number them.  My favorite by far is #5 – it’s a gorgeous bronzey-coppery shade!

The next awesome item we received this month is this perfect beigy-nude nail polish from Butter London – perfect for fall!

Butter London Nail Polish in Yummy Mummy

I was super excited to see this nail polish in the box.  Typically I am always bummed by any nail polish we receive in boxes because it’s typically not a color I like, but this one is right up my alley.  Also, Butter London is a higher-end brand, so that’s always a plus.  I do have to say though, after wearing this polish a few days, it chips a lot, so it’s definitely not a long-wearing polish…but then again, unless it’s a gel-type polish, few polishes last long because I’m pretty rough on my hands.

The next item that we received is this “Hairgurt” from Project Beauty

Project Beauty Hairgurt in Strawberry Banana

I’m not really sure how I feel about this product.  To be honest, I haven’t tried it yet, so I guess I won’t knock it till I try it.  I am not really a fan of the smell because I used to eat Strawberry Banana yogurt frequently…and to be honest, I’m not sure that’s a smell I want in my hair.  According to the website, this is a creamy, rich treatment with yogurt protein, prebiotics, quinoa, their botanical oil blend and Bio-Keratin specifically formulated to help tame unruly, frizzy dry hair.  I’ll try it and if it’s worth telling you about, I’ll make a post about it soon!

This month, we also received a black eyeliner from Hikari Cosmetics.

A girl can never have too many black eyeliners – am I right?  My all-time favorite is a liner from Marc Jacobs, but I like to reserve my more expensive makeup for special occasions, so this will be great for every day wear!

And finally, I was super excited to try the Lip Lure Hydrating Lipstick from Pur Cosmetics!

I was excited for this lipstick because it’s different from the typical regular lipstick, or a liquid lip.  This packaging is great, and works better than most lipsticks.  Although, I do have one complaint – I believe the tip makes it a little difficult to carve out your top lip (I dunno – maybe it’s just me…) but other than that, it’s great!  This color is a little bold for my liking, but I tone it down with a nude lipstick or liquid lip and it’s perfect!  This color is extremely pigmented and creamy, so I’m glad to add this to my collection!
