September Ipsy Bag

Woo hoo!!  My post finally worked and the photos uploaded!
Well…if you subscribe, you see that it inadvertently posted yesterday morning with nothing but pictures…but not with any of my text!
Today has been a frustrating week with technical issues, but hopefully those are behind me!

I hate to post beauty subscription posts of a previous month, but I won’t be able to get in my Boxycharm unboxing without posting it in early October, and this box was GREAT so I don’t want ya’ll to miss out on that!

So…let’s get into the bag…but first, a few logistics…

If you aren’t familiar with the Ipsy subscription, here’s a little explanation.

You get 4-5 deluxe sample sizes a month in a cute reusable bag (as pictured above) for $10 + tax!
There are months where you may luck up and receive a full size beauty product.
When you sign up, you will complete a quiz that asks you what types of brands you’re familiar with, what you’re interested in, skin tone, eyes, hair color, etc.
Around the 10th of every month, the bags start shipping out (shipping is free in the US by the way).
The bags come in a pretty hot pink foil bubble envelope.
Not everyone gets the same items or colors in their bags, but it seems to equal the same amount across the board.

Here we go…

I am pretty excited to see a deluxe-sized Living Proof sample in our bag this month.  I received a sample a few months ago of the Prime style extender and I loved it!  I am always looking for the next great hair product, so I can’t wait to try this out since it’s a 5-in-1, so it’s perfect for travel!  This product claims to give you the perfect hair day in one easy step and provides smoothness, volume, conditioning, strength and polish, while keeping the hair cleaner for longer!
That sounds like a win to me, so I will let you all know how it turns out!

I am always excited to see a good name brand product, so this month, there have been two so far.  With that being said, I am NOT a fan of this at all.  I never have liked lip plumping glosses as they always burn and irritate my lips, so I’ll be passing this on to a friend.  I do like that this is a clear gloss so you can wear it over any lip product you’d like…but like I said – not a fan!

BellaPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Autumn Glow

The next item that I received is this mineral blush from Bella Pierre cosmetics in the color Autumn Glow.  These pictures were taken right after I got back from vacation, so I was super tan and the swatch did not show up well…but this product does have a gorgeous glow!  I can’t see myself using this as a blush, but definitely could use it as a highlight!  This looks to be a super expensive product, so the sample size is apparently a pretty good deal!

I received this Dirty Little Secret cosmetics eye shadow in the color Teaser.  I am honestly not a fan of this eye shadow.  To me it seems to be too chalky and powdery, and has a lot of fall out.  It’s a great color for the crease, but I just don’t see myself reaching for this very much!

Ulta 3 Nail Polish in Sizzling Red

The last item that I received this month was this Ulta 3 Nail Polish in the color Sizzling Red.  I honestly HATE receiving nail polishes in beauty subscriptions…especially in Ipsy bags because the nail polish just seems to be a cheap after thought!  I hate to sound so negative this bag, but when I looked up the cost of this nail polish, it’s less than $2 dollars!  I mean, I feel like they just threw in cheap Dollar Tree polish.  Apparently this is a UK company, but I’m just not a fan.
And please, ignore my nails!  I had just peeled off my gel manicure earlier in the day, so my nails were horrid!

Overall, I have to give this bag for this month a huge thumbs down!  A few more like these, and I will sadly be cancelling my subscription, especially when there are so many better beauty subscription boxes out there now!

The bag is cute though – I always forget to comment about the bags – I love black and gold together, so the bag is a thumbs up – but that’s about it besides the Living Proof sample!

Don’t worry – they’re not all like this!  Interested in seeing what I’ve gotten in the past?  Check out August, July, and May!
(Not sure why I didn’t post about my June bag – so sorry about that guys!)

Oh….I also thought that my blog was SEVERLY lacking pictures of my babies and I was trying my new camera out, so I wanted to include a couple of my favorite snaps!

My sweet Maggie!

My sweet (but sneaky) Sophie!

Have a great day everyone – and thanks for sticking this learning process out with me and hanging in there for the technical difficulties!
